Sheldon Foundation Supports In-Lake and Watershed Projects

At its May 2018 meeting, the Sheldon Foundation awarded a $250,000 grant to the Chautauqua Lake and Watershed Management Alliance. A previous grant to the Alliance resulted in a 5-Year Implementation Strategy for in-lake and watershed plans. As part of the Strategy, a tool was developed to prioritize projects, secure funding and allocate resources. Confident that the Alliance now has the ability to coordinate lake and watershed projects, the Sheldon Foundation's Board directed a lump sum grant to the Alliance for reallocation among its membership. The Sheldon Foundation anticipates future lake and watershed grants will be funneled through the Alliance.
